Family owned and operated, Halcomb Home Center is a well known name in Southeastern Indiana. With the business spanning nearly 70 years, Halcomb Home Center provides excellent services and products to contractors and the do-it -yourselfer throughout the community.

What initially started as a small plaster business operated by James Halcomb (Popeye) grew into Halcomb Building Supply in 1959.  Owned by George and his wife Shirley, Halcomb Building Supply has grown exponentially over the past decades, to constructing a new store and to changing the name to Halcomb Home Center.

The original location of Halcomb Building Supply was next to the family home on the east side of 129, the business continued to grow. In 1973 Halcomb Building Supply moved to the west side of 129 and was renamed Halcomb Home Center.

In 1998, Halcomb Home Center expanded with the addition of an indoor lumber yard that spans a total of 28,800 square feet. To this day one of the largest indoor lumber yards in the state of Indiana.

Halcomb Home Center continues to expand to meet our customer needs, and we take pride in our small town roots and promise to continue to do so. We love providing support to schools and organizations within Ripley county, and are committed to support local builders and other small businesses.

We continue to provide a wide variety of services including home designs, kitchen and bath designs, flooring, building, plumbing, electrical supplies and much more. We provide all this with exceptional customer service.
